The mother of all universities in Tamil Nadu, the so called biggest university, a dream college for everyone who is pursuing engineering, the strange fact is once they are in to it, they will have to go through the torture of their life, if they aren’t the type who goes behind licking the a$$es of the teacher for few extra marks. Merit has no role to play, it all depends on the complexion of your skin, or the way u go behind flattering professors, or licking their a$$.
The students cant oppose the teacher, or for that matter if the teacher doesn’t like the name of the student he is expected to repeat the paper next semester, warning students directly in class, the undeserving getting marks, what kina effect will this have on the upcoming minds, they will go through a lot of depression , how many of them will have supporting parents, or how many of such suffering students will have a guiding brother, that too when most of the students from the various parts of Tamil Nadu and majority share of the students stay in hostel.
Is it wrong being a true student, and not posing, like being attentive in class,
Is it wrong being humble and independent doing your work hassle-free?
Is it wrong to have a not so sweet voice which may end up you in getting a U grade?
Is it your fault that your father is not an industrialist; if he had been an industrialist you would have got an S grade.
The worst part is students afraid to apply for re-evaluation, in the fear that particular teacher may give her an U grade in the coming semester, there are still guys writing arrears because the professor dint like the guy being involved in sports activities and he is now the sports secretary. How long will this discrimination, ultimately at the end of the day it’s all the people from the lower walks of life who are affected by the color of their skin or the tone of the voice, or for being true to themselves and pointing out a mistake done by the professor.
Colleges is the place where students are to be taught more bout life rather than scoring marks by licking the A$$ of scoundrels and womanizers. This trend continues even in Work place, coz it’s difficult to get rid of things that u learn during college days.
How many years will the students go through this, when will the students of the so called mother of all universities in Tamil Nadu get to be non partial and give marks only on merit, hope the only way for this is by forwarding this and creating awareness, or the other way is when the big companies stop recruiting students from their campus.
This article has been written with utmost respect given to many of the good and genuine professors out there in the university and nothing against them, and its only because of these few good HOD’s and few good professors there is a thin ray of hope!!! Hoping that something good happens to those hapless souls who struggle for no valid reason of theirs, most of the students get in with good marks in their 12 standard, and I just hope that something happens somewhere down the line to help those hapless students who deserve more .
